The Power of Play

Free play provides a vital platform for a child’s overall development. Among other things, it stimulates creativity, builds initiative, teaches organization and encourages negotiation skills. Plus, it’s just plain fun. I think adults sometimes underestimate the importance of allowing kids time to be outside, to get dirty and to have unstructured time to explore.

This article from Parents magazine gives some good insight into why simple, free play is one of the best things you can give to your kids.
